The Water Dogs are thrilled to welcome new head coach Mose Timoteo and new assistant coach Kieran “Ted” Browner as they join the program ahead of the upcoming Spring 2025 season. Former head coach Scotty Smith has decided to step down from his role in order to prioritize family commitments; we extend him our heartfelt thanks for his dedicated service to the club (and are actively recruiting him to suit back up as a prop for the Dogs whenever availability permits).

Mose and Teddy both bring tremendous backgrounds in high-caliber rugby, which they will tap as they seek to build upon the strong foundations Scotty leaves behind. Mose began his playing career in Pago Pago, American Samoa, before playing for other elite rugby programs around the country. Over the course of a career that earned him induction to the USA Rugby Foundation Hall of Fame in 2022, he accumulated more than 100 USA Eagles caps in both 7s and 15s, including Rugby World Cup appearances in both formats. Since transitioning to coaching, he has worked with rugby programs across the nation, including leading the American Raptors as head coach for their 2024 Super Rugby Americas campaign. Teddy likewise brings a wealth of experience as a former player and forwards coach for the Raptors from 2010-2018. Between Mose’s and Teddy’s incoming leadership and the deep roster of talented players set to turn out for the Dogs in 2025, the future appears brighter than ever for Denver’s premier D2 side.

This exciting new chapter for the Water Dogs kicks off with our first practice on March 6th at Infinity Park and an action-packed spring season that culminates in a second, expanded iteration of last year’s successful Carnage Carnival. The full spring schedule is as follows:
March 6th: First practice
March 22nd: First match @ Denver Highlanders RFC
April 12th: Match @ Boulder RFC
April 19th: Match @ Denver Barbarians RFC
April 26th: Match vs Denver Barbarians RFC
May 3rd: 2nd Annual Carnage Carnival
We once again thank Scotty for his many years of service to the Water Dogs, and are excited to have Mose stepping into the role of head coach and Teddy as the new forwards coach ahead of what promises to be the Water Dogs’ most exciting season yet. Go Dogs!
